Gems of the Internet 011

Hey folks! I visited an awesome art stall last week called Secret Canyon, where I found these eye-catching Mistubishi pencils!

Here are this week’s gems:

  1. I’ve been reading the book Shoe Dog: A Memoir By The Creator of Nike - and I can’t put it down!

  2. Rajiv Surendra shops for art supplies. “I buy the best quality that’s available, then I work really hard to warrant those purchases.”

  3. Gawx’s surprise video, “Burning”.

  4. Beabadoobee’s new song, with a cute music video and The 1975 energy. Clairo’s newest single, Nomad, off her newest album which will be out this Friday! Good Neighbours cover Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” and CXLOE covers Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” on Triple J’s show Like A Version. One commenter described Good Neighbors as Phoenix and Grouplove smashed together - I’d throw Arcade Fire in there too. “Blood Orange” by Howe Gelb & A Band of Gypsies (very Leonard Cohen). Some more electronic vibes with “CHICAGO” by DRAMA (feat. DJ Pharris) and “Osaka Loop Line” by Discovery.

  5. America’s sweetheart Ayo Edibiri shows us her picks in the Criterion Closet.

  6. Colt Kirwan, a YouTube creator with a knack for creating unique worlds in his seemingly normal videos, made a “What’s In My Camera Bag” video. But this one’s far from average!

  7. The story behind Tinashe’s viral hit “Nasty”. I loved this quote from her producer Ricky Reed, “I was like trying to serve things to you that I thought made sense…and I kept realizing every time…it’s gotta be a little weirder. It’s gotta be a little stranger.”

  8. New obsession: ASMR videos of country life in Azerbaijan, of all places.

That’s it for this week! Thanks for reading, and if you liked what you saw, tell a friend :)
