Hey! Hope you had a great week. I’m looking forward to eating deep-fried turkey soon :)
NYT: lighthouse keepers find a 132-year-old message in a bottle.
The Art of Pants: the Tim Burton of Instagram. I love his weird, funny, scraggly, creepy art!
SmallScaleLA: handmade, extremely detailed recreations of LA landmarks
The Offline Club: a digital detox cafe in Amsterdam. I would totally go!
Music: “Seventeen” by Sjowgren, “Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl” by Broken Social Scene (an older song that’s having a renaissance because it was featured in the movie I Saw the TV Glow - great movie!), “Weekend Friend” by Goth Babe, a cover of Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place” by Sure Sure, a cover of Chappell Roan’s “Red Wine Supernova” by Orla Gartland, and “People Need A Melody” by The Head and the Heart.
I had my first offsite with the Patreon video team this week at this incredible co-working spot (The Preserve). This was our conference room! It felt straight out of Jurrassic Park.

They even had their own bookshop!

The YouTube show Public Opinion also hosts a music show called Track Star Presents, similar to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. I enjoyed this performance of Winnetka Bowling League covering Chappell Roan’s “Casual”.
Fantastic stop-motion animation by @brian.ayooo.
The heartwarming story of Jay Fosgitt, who wrote a letter to Jim Henson as a kid and then worked with him as an adult many years later :’) Here’s a video Jay made talking about the experience!
This guy made a mini-Blockbuster video store in his tiny closet.
Thanks for reading.
P.S. Look at these clouds!
